Yes. Chill and Grill tours include dedicated tour guides who will greet you on boarding, provide wristbands and water, and escort you to your VIP area onboard. They will also review your pre-travel medical declaration, answer any questions, and prepare you for the day ahead. In small groups, your guide will then lead a guided walk to Hill Inlet, sharing commentary and local insights along the way. After your Hill Inlet experience, crew will be on hand to assist, host beach games, and answer any questions.
Yes. For guests wanting to see more of Whitehaven Beach in one day, including Hill Inlet, Chill and Grill is one of the most comprehensive options.
The Whitehaven Beach Chill and Grill is a full-day experience that allows more time at Whitehaven Beach and access to both ends of the island.
Unlike the Morning or Afternoon Cruises, which visit only the southern end of Whitehaven Beach, the Chill and Grill also includes Hill Inlet and the northern end of the beach. Half-day tours do not access Hill Inlet Lookout.
Yes, stinger suits are provided free of charge for all guests year-round.
These lightweight, full-body suits are worn while swimming and provide protection against marine stingers such as box jellyfish and Irukandji, even in shallow water. They also offer sun protection and minor protection from marine irritants.
Your skipper will advise on board when stinger suits are mandatory; however, they are always recommended and are typically required during the warmer months or when stinger activity has been reported.
The tour operates in all weather conditions, including rain. Light wet weather does not usually affect the itinerary, and the experience continues as planned unless conditions are deemed unsafe.
We recommend checking the local forecast 72 hours prior to your departure so you know what to expect and have the flexibility to amend your booking if required.
Onboard vessel bars open from 10:00am and offer a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.
On arrival at Whitehaven Beach, a beach bar is also set up where drinks are available for purchase during your time ashore.
Please note that BYO alcohol is not permitted on board Cruise Whitsundays vessels. However, guests are welcome to bring their own eskies to the beach for food and drinks if desired.
Guest safety and comfort are always the top priority on the Whitehaven Beach Chill and Grill tour.
In rare cases of unfavourable conditions, such as strong northerly winds or rough seas, access to Whitehaven Beach may be affected. The vessel Master will assess conditions on the day and may select an alternative beach location within the Whitsundays to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Any itinerary changes are made with safety in mind while still delivering the best possible day on the water.
A moderate level of fitness is required to fully enjoy this tour.
The experience includes walking on sand, climbing steps, navigating uneven terrain, and boarding tender vessels, which require a reasonable level of balance and mobility. Guests should also be comfortable moving around in warm and humid conditions.
Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach may also involve strong currents and changing tidal conditions, so guests should be confident swimmers or remain in shallow water.
All guests must complete a medical declaration prior to travel. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, recent illness, injury, or mobility concerns, we recommend seeking medical advice and contacting our reservations team before departure to ensure the experience is suitable for you.
No, snorkelling is not included on this tour as there is no coral reef directly off Whitehaven Beach.
Whitehaven Beach is best known for its white silica sand and coastal scenery rather than reef snorkelling, so snorkelling equipment is not provided.
Phone reception is only available intermittently at the beginning of the journey before being lost as the vessel travels through the Whitsundays.
There is no WiFi available on board Cruise Whitsundays vessels, allowing guests to disconnect and enjoy the experience.
