Cruise Whitsundays does have the facilities to accommodate passengers with disabilities on our vessels, such as wheelchair use, however, not on all services.
If you require special assistance when travelling with Cruise Whitsundays, we kindly ask you to please notify us via our reservations line on 07 4846 7000 during business hours before you make your booking. This allows passengers to receive the necessary service and departure terminal information. Failure to notify us of your requirements may result in the service being unavailable on arrival at the ferry terminal.
Wheelchair Access
The crew will be on hand to provide assistance during embarkation and disembarkation at the departure location on the day of travel, and the crew will be able to supply a wheelchair to assist any guests with mobility access issues board the vessel.
Travelling with a pram
Passengers travelling with prams or strollers are welcome on any Cruise Whitsundays service. Prams are to be folded prior to boarding and stowed securely in an area directed by the crew. Children should then be seated with a parent or guardian.
To assist with passenger comfort and safety, any passengers bringing a pram will be given priority boarding after folding and stowing pram.
Companion Card Holders
The Companion Card is issued by the National Disability Services to people with a significant and permanent disability who require attendant care support from a companion to make use of most venues and participate in activities. Cruise Whitsundays accepts Companion Cards to allow the companion to travel free of charge on any of the below Cruise Whitsundays products:
Service Dog Assistance
A Service Dog is trained to provide assistance to a person with a disability. Service Dogs include Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs and Assistance Dogs. Service dogs travel free of charge on all Cruise Whitsundays services.
We strongly suggest that all bookings for transfers, particularly airport transfers, be made before the date of travel. Our vessels are restricted to carry a maximum number of guests, should this number be reached you will be asked to travel on the next available ferry.
Daydream Island Day Guests: Daydream Island is only available for day guests through our Daydream Island Escapes package, for more information check out Experience page.
A luggage service is available for Resort Connection guests. Luggage will need to be checked in 15 minutes prior to departure and is limited to one large suitcase and one small piece per person.
Most Airlie Beach accommodation is within easy walking distance to Port of Airlie. If however, you need a transfer to the marina, please contact us to enquire about bus and taxi services.
Vessels arrive/depart from the jetty at the Airport just 100 metres from the airline check-in desks. Travel to and from the Airport Jetty is strictly for passengers connecting with flights only. Porters will transfer your luggage between the airport terminal and the vessels. It is your responsibility to collect your luggage at the designated drop off point at Port of Airlie.
All arriving guests staying at qualia, Yacht Club Villas and the Beach Club will be met by a guest services representative for private transfers to your accommodation. Guests staying at the Reef View Hotel, Palm Bungalows and holiday home accommodation will need to see the drivers of the island transfer service.
When arriving at the airport you’ll be met by our coach drivers who transfer you to Port of Airlie for vessel transfers to your island resort. All departing passengers should make themselves known to the coach drivers at Port of Airlie for transfers to the airport. Coach times will be advised when you make your booking.
This is the access point for all holiday makers and people visiting Hamilton Island on business. Shuttle buses operate from the Marina to scheduled points on the island at regular intervals. Guests staying at qualia, Yacht Club Villas and the Beach Club will be met by a guest services representative at the top of the jetty for private transfers to their respective accommodation. Guests staying at the Reef View Hotel, Palm Bungalows and holiday home accommodation will need to see the drivers of the transfer vehicles that meet each vessel at the top of the jetty. A Resort Link taxi service is also available and can be contacted by telephone located at the General Store. A per person charge will apply.
